Young Man: ‘Up So Fast’ and London dates

Young Man, the loving work of Colin Caulfield, is an artist we’ve had our beady eyes on for a while. Next month, on the 14th of March he’s releasing Up So Fast on Chess Club Records, which will be backed with the equally beautiful ‘Strangers’.
To date, Caulfield has released two EPs and toured with Local Natives, to name but one band. ‘Up So Fast’ has previously been released on Young Man’s Boy EP, which contains seven of the most deliciously dreamy songs you could hope to hear. You can stream the EP from Soundcloud here and make up your own mind. There’s also digital single, ‘Strangers’, one of Caulfield’s more multi-dimensional tracks. As with most of his material, ‘Strangers’ displays Caulfield’s talent for layering and his inspired use of reverb.
Having previously had praise from Bradford Cox of Deerhunter fame, who said his cover of ‘Rainwater Cassette Exchange’ was “fantastically superior to the original”, amongst many, it’s a wonder the rumble of hype hasn’t sent Caulfield toppling to the floor yet.
Luckily for London, Young Man are booked for a couple of shows before jetting off to Paris for a date with The Vaccines:
07/03 – The Social – London
08/03 – White Head @ Madame JoJos – London
09/03 – Nouveau Casino (w/The Vaccines) – Paris
Young Man‘s Soundcloud account is full of gems that we really do recommend you give a whirl. Alternatively or additionally, listen to his gorgeous cover of Beach House’s ‘Heart of Chambers’, a match made in heaven if ever there was one!
