In terms of the music they make, Fanfarlo and Yeasayer couldn’t be further apart. That said, the idea of Yeasayer remixing Fanfarlo seems like the best of ideas simply because, whatever the odd outcome would sound like, it would be entirely unexpected and therefore great. Whilst ‘Shiny Things’ does come as a slight departure from the sound of Fanfarlo’s first album, Yeasayer’s reworking sees the track’s tempo and atmosphere subverted to a muted succession of brilliant clicks and bleeps.
